About the Portal
The HNTB Project Portal is one secure home for the dashboards, analytics, and deliverables our teams build for a project. Each project lives at its own web address, behind the same sign in, and you only ever see the work you are meant to see.
How signing in works
The portal uses a one time code instead of a password. You enter your email, we send a short code, and you type it back. That proves you own the inbox, which is all we need to let you in. There is no password to create, forget, or reset.
A session lasts eight hours, so most people sign in about once a day. Closing the browser does not end it early, and you can sign out at any time from your account page.
Who can see what
If you sign in with an hntb.com address, you reach every project on the portal. You are HNTB staff, and access follows automatically.
Everyone else starts with no access at all. A client or partner sees only the projects they have been invited to, and the rest of the catalog stays invisible to them. Each client looks at their own work and nothing else.
How your data is protected
Every project sits behind the portal gate. Nothing on a project loads until the server has checked your session, so an uninvited visitor only ever reaches the sign in screen. There is no public side door to a project.
All traffic runs over HTTPS, so it is encrypted between our servers and your browser. Access is never assumed: a person reaches a project only when their account carries an explicit grant for it, and we can add or remove that grant at any time. The data behind the dashboards stays in our cloud and is served to the page only after the same check.
Inviting a client
Any HNTB user can bring a client into a specific project. Open your account page, find the project, and choose Invite. Type the person's email, pick a role, and grant access. The grant saves right away, so the moment they sign in with that same email they are in.
The portal also hands you a short, ready to send message with the project link, in case you would rather email the invitation yourself from Outlook. The person signs in the same way you do, with a one time code sent to their inbox.
Most access is Viewer, which is read only and suits nearly every client. Editor and Owner exist for collaborators who will do more than look, and we are still shaping exactly what each one allows.
Making the portal yours
Your account page lists every project you can open. Pin the few you work in every day and they rise to the top and stay there, on whatever computer you sign in from. Drag them into the order you like. Everything else stays one search away, and you can group the full list by client when you want to browse.
If something is missing
If you expected a project and do not see it, use Request Access on your account page and tell us which one you need. The portal team reviews every request.
